now you’re gone

I’ve been doing nothing lately. Gas prices are close to $4 a gallon so we haven’t gone anywhere, it snowed a ton this weekend, and since I’ve had 3 days off in a row I’ve done little else but sleep. On the plus side I figured out how to curl in my hair in 15 minutes.

I heard from the guy’s insurance company today, basically, his insurance company told me today they believe I’M THE ONE AT FAULT because I SHOULD HAVE NOTICED HIM. Even though I was in the “proper” lane and he was coming AT ME , his FRONT SLAMMED into the right rear of my vehicle. I had to drive on my spare tire for A WEEK (until the awesome people at Midas repaired my tire and put it back onto my car for FREE).  So even though he admitted fault to me and my supervisor, he suddenly changed his story that now has him “cautiously inching out and being aware of his surroundings until I came out of nowhere”. Fuck that.

Did I mention the back pain that keeps me up at night? Has me crying at work? Sheer agony? I am going to make a doctors appointment first thing in the morning tomorrow.

ETA I saw the doctor, she gave me prescriptions for a muscle relaxer and ibuprofen. She said my back is really inflamed and swollen so she can’t tell the whole extent of my injuries but that if I am still hurting in one week that she will take a more aggressive approach and as it stands she believes I may need physical therapy. Insane isn’t it? This accident compared to last year was nothing and yet physically I am more screwed up.

better in time

I’m still in a lot of pain, thankfully the guys at work are helping me carry the heavy stuff. This sucks. I should hear back from the guy’s insurance tomorrow since a physical damage adjuster apparently looked at my car today. I am so pissed about the whole thing. Oh and it didn’t help that my son’s father (after ignoring his son for months including xmas and his son’s birthday for the second year in a row) felt the need to harass me while at work today via text message. Like I don’t have enough to deal with right now right?

My son however is doing great, has been a HUGE help since I can’t really bend or you know… do much of anything physically without ranting and raving about the evil that is the back pain. So we played with my camera last night, he SAID he was going to give me a kiss and well… he faked me out. Silly boy.

bleeding love

I was in a car accident today. My car is oddly enough ok for the most part. Just a dent above the rear tire and that hubcap is carved into, and a tire that is flat (nothing like driving on a spare for days!).

I hurt like hell though.

eta Come to find out the guy didn’t even file a claim so I had to spend two hours on the phone with his insurance, my insurance, just trying to get this situated!! Not to mention the hellish back pain. I can’t sleep really because of it. I am really not happy driving on my spare especially since I get conflicting answers on how long I can drive on the thing. Supposedly an adjuster will come out to look at my car Wednesday or Thursday… possibly… as I was told. Yeah. Fantastic.

whatever it takes

Ah yet another bout of too much in my head and no way of expressing it properly. It doesn’t help that I feel like one tiny voice in a sea of millions. It’s really overwhelming when you think about it long enough. While driving home in rush hour traffic and realizing that there is at the very least, 30 other people around you with completely separate lives, dramas, happiness, struggles… it’s very odd. Or to bring it back to the ‘net, just one barely there web address in an overflowing ocean. How does one scream loud enough to be heard?

the flickr fiasco

Not only have I been working, but I’ve been rather obsessed on fixing my Flickr account. See, I renewed it on the 18^th, on the 19^th I was unable to login due to my yahoo password on the account I have had for almost 10 years now, not working. Long story short, Yahoo is useless. I even faxed a copy of my drivers license as they requested to reset my password, STILL no response from that. So I contacted Flickr directly. Not only did they respond fairly quickly, but right away released the yahoo account from my main flickr account so I could add my secondary yahoo account that works fine, instead. I am so so relieved!

So that’s why I haven’t been around. Well that and attempting to get WoW onto this laptop but all is good and I am on my way to lv 63 haha.

Today was a long day, with the migraine from hell, doing laundry… at least it was warmer! My son and I had lunch at Portillo’s yum and then got his hair cut. He was getting some ferocious emo hair. He’s actually been very well behaved today, even took care of me during the migraine from hell (I should just refer to it as MFH).

My Flickr account expires on Monday. I am just not sure if I am going to renew or not. Thoughts?

could you shine your light

It gets hard to write when you have such negative people coming around in a weird attempt to put me down just to make themselves feel better. Yay for “adult” behavior! I would be tempted to start over but I’m selfish. I like my google position heh.

Anyway, onto perkier things. My twin sister is going to be having a girl! So between the both of us, we will have a “matched” set of the wee ones. Doesn’t hurt that now I can buy every single neon pink glittery fluffy outfit possible! Key word is “glittery”.

I finally picked out a laptop since I’m mainly going to be using it for basic things, not photo processing and I probably wouldn’t be playing WoW on it too much (speaking of, my lovely 62 draenei mage is doing well! Yay for PvP goodness!), it didn’t hurt that it’s all swirly too heh. Depending on my funds, I will also be pondering a new monitor and video card even though my current desktop is old and can only do PCI.

Photography stuff wise, I have decided upon the Sigma 10-20mm and the Sigma 105mm Macro lenses. I will be getting the Nikon SB-600 flash. I will also be getting either the Crumpler 6 Millon Dollar Home or the Crumpler 7 Million Dollar Home. Unless you have a suggestion for a different camera bag? I can be so indecisive. I also need a new tripod but NO clue what I want in that area yet. I would really appreciate your suggestions or at least what kind of gear you have! I also want to get more into lighting since I severely lack any knowledge in that area (I mainly prefer natural light photos). I just do not know where to get started!

I just noticed my Flickr account is going to expire. Debating if I’m going to renew or not.

Sometimes I feel so invisible to everyone. I’ve lost contact with well… everyone. Ever since I switched back to retail hours.  I don’t even know how to reconnect.

the one where i ramble

Well, obviously new design (awaits any and all praise…) which I like to think is a touch better than the green one.

I filed my taxes and was beyond shocked at the oh so glorious refund I shall be receiving in two weeks. I plan on purchasing the sigma 10-20mm lens, I want a macro lens but unsure of which one I like best although I know I want something in the 100-150mm range, the sb-600 flash, and a new camera bag, probably the Crumpler 6 million. What other photography gear would you suggest? Or what suggestions do you have for a wide angle lens and a macro lens?

I am also, finally, going to be in the market for a laptop so any and all suggestions would be nice. I fix them lol but I’ve always owned desktops so I’m not sure really what I even WANT in a laptop. Well, spec wise I do to a point… 2gb ram, AMD TL-60 or TL-64 processor, 250gb hdd, and at least a halfway decent video card. What I can’t decide on is brand or size. I know I do not want a Sony and I have issues with Toshiba. I will admit I do want something pretty which falls into the HP area and I have used HP desktops for over 10 years now. I really would appreciate any suggestions or perhaps what kind of laptop you own and what you like/dislike about it.

I also plan on giving my sister $500 to pay off one of her credit cards, $150 – 200 for her baby (we find out if the baby is a boy or girl tomorrow!!!), some sort of present for her fiance, and naturally all sorts of stuff for my son. Although all he seems to want is a video game.
