Any excuse for me to post my photos right!
We’ve been working on the house lately. The kitchen is painted although the color is WAY too pale so I’m not exactly pleased with it although it is far superior to what was there. Keith cut down all the bushes (some had large bushes of poison ivy!) that have been here since his father built the house. Slowly but surely we are fixing the yard of doom!
Family wise things are of course, awesome. Tristan is teething like mad crazy but you wouldn’t know it because he is SO HAPPY almost all of the time. He actually just got his eye teeth (vampire teeth lol) so he has 4 teeth on top, 2 on the bottom. Baby teeth are SO adorable! He also pulls himself to standing quite a bit, makes me wonder if he is going to walk earlier than his big brother did.
Daniel is growing like my tomato plant (as in quickly and very tall!). His vocabulary has improved SO much in the past year, I get such a kick out of it! He and I redid the bookcase in the bedroom so he was able (with the help of dad) to organize his book collection by type (coloring books, history books, star wars books, reading books, etc).
Keith and I are doing very well, I still marvel at how lucky I am! I have to admit too, it’s AWESOME having a handy boyfriend. If I need something built, repaired, heavy duty yard work, car stuff… anything really, he is able to do it. Plus he changes 99% of all the diapers and does 100% of the diaper laundry! A sensitive man’s man if you will!
It is so weird sometimes to be in a healthy relationship. I was reading my old journals, as I have them going back to February of 1999, and the physical abuse from my ex-fiance is insane. I had documented EVERYTHING apparently. I was even a bit psychic too, in one entry I mentioned (mind you this is two YEARS before Dan was even conceived!) how I just had a feeling that he would be a deadbeat father, that if he couldn’t be responsible for himself, there was no way he would be there for his child, sadly, I was right.
The other night I went through and unfollowed a ton of people from twitter. Nothing personal. REALLY! I was just so overwhelmed at following close to 400 people, most of whom I never sent a tweet to OR ever got a tweet from. I was starting to worry that people were only following me in hopes that I would follow them back to boost their numbers and I was sadly correct in that assumption. After getting to under 200 people to follow, I immediately lost 15 followers. Makes me a bit sad actually. I did it so that I can try and form a connection with those I follow instead of hoping to make my “follower” number appear to be impressive.
Anyway, to brighten things up a bit…
Here’s some awesome blog posts I’ve been reading lately!
From Photo.Tutsplus: Capturing a Perfect Rainbow Photograph
Seriously, a post about pretty rainbows and how/where to find them to photograph them… what could be better!
So, what exactly are we looking for? Rainbows occur when sunlight intersects with water droplets – whether that’s rain, mist, waves, or a waterfall. Anywhere that you can see bright sunlight and moisture will be a good candidate for rainbow spotting.
From TasteStopping : You blog too much. Here’s one big idea that can help.
Ahh isn’t this always the case with blogging! A really refreshing post!
Notice that I didn’t say “You post too much.” That’s really none of my business. No, I’m talking about the craft of blogging. You know: writing posts, editing posts, adding photos, tweaking your site’s layout, moderating comments, checking stats, composing emails, reading other blogs, commenting on other blogs, checking stats, updating your FaceBook status, researching recipes, perusing the Daring Kitchen forum for tips on this month’s challenges, checking stats, stumbling a post, submitting photos, tweeting, tweeting and more tweeting. And breathe.
So lay it on me, have you blogged recently? Link me up! Any suggestions for an OSN tutorial? Let me know! Have an overwhelming desire to ask me a burning question? Do it! Or you can check out my wee tiny yet awesome forum.
I love the light in these photos… gorgeous stuff!
The quotes are great, definitely some food for thought there. The one from Taste Stopping is something we should all think about every now and then!

LOVE the last photo! I have no idea what the proper terms are for the insides of that flower, but I am so shocked you can see the shadow caused my the sun hitting those “insides”.
The Twitter thing is sad. I think it’s good you cleaned up your Twitter account, and I can’t believe people then unfollowed you!
That last picture is amazing!! Awesome links btw. I really like the last one– I’ve been bogged down with blogging lately– always thinking about it. I need to revisit my mission statement though because it’s starting to shift and I need to revise and tweak!
shared blog post — 1,096 Days Apart
I read a post a few weeks ago about someone being called a Twitter b*%$# b/c she refused to follow everyone who followed her. Her opinion was similar to yours, would rather have meaningful connections in her twitter stream than noise. It really made me think. It’s made me appreciate that my following and followers is growing slowly.
Great links Sarah! I loved @KitchenWitch’s post. She’s such a sweet person and I found her post to be very brave and honest. As for Keith, I’m so glad that you both found each other. As a former single mom, I know how big of a deal it is to find that person that you can totally trust and be yourself with. So happy for you!

Very lovely photos. It is also great to hear that life is treating you so kindly. It seems as if anyone deserves it, you do.
I know we chatted on twitter the other day about cutting back on your followers and having meaning connections with people there. After reading this I had a thought about your sudden loss of followers. Well, and to be honest, when I realized you were no longer following me, I had a bit of a sassy thought. Which was, ‘Well, fine. I won’t follow you either!’ I know, sassy, right?! But then I realized that was silly because while we don’t connect often I still really like what you have to say and I like this blog. So, unfollowing you would be my loss really. Could there be others who had similar thoughts to mine? Maybe those people were also looking for a real connection too? I don’t really know, but figured I’d at least put it out there.
You did inspire me to unfollow a few folks too. :)

I am so happy for you — you really are where you deserve to be in life. Finally!
As far as twitter, I am the same way. I don’t follow everyone who follows me. So, thanks for not unfollowing me! :)
And, as always, beautiful photos!
shared blog post — ☀ The Weekly Happy Stats! ☀
I just love your photos — they’re so beautiful. I think your blog is great too. I’ve read so many blogs lately, the majority of which I’m not really interested in making a return visit to, but I really enjoy reading your blog. I’ve been anxious for the WP theme tutorial part 2, now I’m off to read. Peace. :)

Isn’t it wonderful when life finally stabilizes? We’re still a little in flux from the SF move but I already feel soooo much happier.
Glad to see your little guys are still doing well. Love to both of the squishies (even if one’s growing out of the squishiness)!
shared blog post — To Life
The pictures are breathtakingly beautiful and so does the quotes! I too still read my old journals (pre-blogging era) and it is amazing to see how far we’ve come in our lives isn’t? Anyway, I’m glad you’re still following me on Twitter lol
