{The Pioneer Woman Cooks} Cookbook Giveaway!

12/09/09

pioneerwomancookbookgiveaway

Just in time for Christmas/Yule, I went out and got TWO copies of The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Recipes from an Accidental Country Girl. One for myself naturally, and one copy for YOU!

The author is Ree Drummond who has a very popular blog ranging from the typical blog entry to specific sections for food, homeschooling (yay for homeschooling!), and photography (another Nikon user too!).

Ever since Keith and I started menu planning, we rarely eat out anymore (even today we originally were going to have Chipotle for a late lunch but then decided to make taco salads at home), so to find a cookbook that not only has awesome recipes, but has gorgeous photographs and awesome stories as well really helps us when it comes to finding delicious recipes to try!

All you have to do to win this awesome book is enter! I will choose the winner randomly so the more times you enter, the better chance you have of winning! You must comment to be entered initially, all the other methods are to boost your chances!

How to Enter:

Leave a comment: let me know what your favorite cookbook/food blog is and why!

Link to OSN: a text link, or you could always make me a cool button lol, leave a new comment (which also helps your chances!) if you’ve done so!

Twitter: Follow me on Twitter and send a tweet that says: I just entered to win ‘The Pioneer Woman Cooks’ cookbook, from @starrymom and you can too! Go to http://bit.ly/6kqQjQ and enter! Come back and leave a new comment that links to that twitter status!

Blog: write a blog entry about the giveaway! Make sure to come back and leave a new comment if you’ve done so!

The giveaway will end Sunday, December 13th, 2009, at 11:59p CST.

I love all the cookbooks by Ina Garten and the ones by Susan Branch.

My favorite cookbook is the Black Star Pentecostal Church cookbook. My mother in law gets me one every Christmas and has for the last fourteen years — so I have a big stack. Of course there’s a ton of repetition. But these are down home country women who are mostly the wives of coal miners and they really know how to cook!

OOOOOOOH I love cook books and am beefing up my collection, so far I have 3 and I want to start meal planning so we dont spend so much damn money, but i need easy simple recipes

I wish I could give a fair entry and say I have a favorite cook book or cooking blog, but I am the worlds worst housewife. Lately I have been striving to become less of a “I’m not cooking, make your own dinner” mom and wife and actually put forth an effort. I have heard great things about this cook book though. I hope this can count as an actual entry. LOL

Kecia (19 comments)

My favorite cookbook is the Weight Watchers one I have. The recipes are yummy, and not really bad for you!

Cool!

My favorite food blog is Coconut & Lime because they’re all original recipes and this girl (though she justifiably doesn’t care for me at all now) was my best friend in elementary school.

I don’t know if this would be considered a blog but it is a site that has many food blogs on it. Tastespotting.com
It’s food porn. I look for recipes there all the time because the photos are so beautiful.

My favorite cookbook is an old softcover copy of the Betty Crocker Cookbook that I bought shortly after I got married in 1993. It’s falling apart, the pages are stained, but it’s my go-to cookbook!

I have to admit that I don’t really have a favorite cookbook or recipe blog. Usually when I’m looking for a recipe I just google it and choose the recipe with the prettiest pictures (heh!), so they all come from different websites. I do want to start using books, though. I’m so glad you chose this book to give away! It’s actually one of the ones on my Christmas list. :D

Have been wanting to get my hands on this cookbook for awhile now! :)

Cee (1 comments)

My favorite cookbook is a Better Homes and Garden 3-ring binder style cookbook that belonged to my husband’s grandmother. I believe it’s from the 30s or 40s (the original information has been removed), but it is full of great, traditional recipes and has a ton of recipes for leftovers. I haven’t made one recipe yet that hasn’t been delicious, tho’ I do shy away from the jellied beef stock appetizers ;) Thanks for this wonderful giveaway!!

anndreeuhh (2 comments)

Ever since I started cooking all the time (because of the little mans allergies), my favortie cookbooks are the ones by Ina Garten. I’m also into using befreeforme.com because it has a lot of recipes that don’t contain my son’s allergens.
.-= {Caitlin´s shared blog entry… Happy Thanksgiving!} =-.

Piroska (1 comments)

My favourite cookbook is The Joy of Cooking. Not necessarily because I’ve done a lot of recipes from it (I haven’t)…but it’s come in so handy as a reference tool, over the years.

Jessica (1 comments)

I hear Bakerella, but I see that she has been mentioned a few times already. I recently just started following Ree and her website The Pioneer Woman. Other than that, I usually read cookbooks from the Biggest Loser or Jillian Michaels.

Erin (2 comments)

I love Pioneer Woman’s website for recipes and one of my favorite cookbooks right now is Hungry Girl 200 or Less.

I so need a copy of this! I went to B&N the other day to search for this book. When I saw the price I knew I couldn’t buy it. :( I gently caressed the cover, flipped through some of the pages, gave a huge sigh and placed the book down.
