Life Updates

As some of you know, I’ve been struggling with some mystery health issues over the past two years. Finally we’ve finally uncovered one (out of the many sadly) of the problems. I’m diagnosed as gluten intolerant.

That’s not the same as celiac disease, however it does come with its own set of issues. Since removing gluten (all grains actually), my migraines have reduced from 4-5 times a week to 1-2 times a week. I rarely have my hands break out into a rash (that seemed to happen within an hour of ingesting gluten containing food). I also am just feeling better overall (well, compared to having a migraine and rash almost every day).

I still have other issues that I’m not ready to get into quite yet, it’s a slow process but at least I’m getting some answers.

On the plus side of things…

My birthday is next Friday! I’ll be 33 years old. I know some of you have been reading my blog since I started when I was 19 years old! Crazy how time flies.

I’ve not only gotten an amazing gift from a close friend of mine…

But I’ve also treated myself to some amazing and wonderful treats as well!

Aw, I’m so sorry about your gluten intolerance, Sarah, but I’m glad the discovery has led to reduced migraines and rash outbreaks. You poor thing! I hope it continues to improve over time so you can finally be migraine-free! Happy upcoming birthday! WOOOHOOOOOOO! :D And THANK YOU so much for the link love! You’ve made my day! Mucho love taters!

I don’t know if I’ll ever be migraine free (on Tuesday and Wednesday I got SLAMMED by them) but the reduction is a welcome reprieve for sure!!

It’s interesting too, I always assumed gluten was strictly a bread / pasta / beer (sobbing hysterically) thing… but gluten is in all sorts of random items like soy sauce and even some blue cheeses!

I’m sorry you got clobbered with a migraine again this week! I’ve only had a few in my life and they were absolutely horrible. My mom gets them fairly often. I’ll have to mention this gluten possibility to her. She loves pastas, breads, and BLEU CHEESE. Who knew gluten was lurking about in those unlikely cheesy places? I had no idea!

Yeah, my triggers are red wine, that time of month, the weather, heat, humidity, and apparently gluten.

Sorry to hear that your dealing with a few health issues lately… but I’m glad you were able to figure out what was causing your migraines.

Happy early birthday

Thank you! It definitely played a part in the sheer amount of migraines… now if I could get mother earth to not develop pressure when it rains, I’d be much better LOL!

I’m pretty sure I have a gluten intolerance but I’ve been way too stubborn to stop eating it completely lol. And I love all your stuffs you got! Jealous ^.^

I had to, the rashes, migraines, and so on were too much to handle. Just not worth it!
