Special Surgeon Appt
I met with the surgeon. I liked him. He was very confident.
The surgery is on February 4.
They don’t have a time yet, you find out the time the day before. I have a whole plan of protein shakes that I have to take at the end of the month and a special soap that I have to use right before the surgery.
He said the size of it is like two NFL-sized footballs. The goal right now is for me to survive the surgery, which is going to be at least a four-hour surgery. When I survive the surgery then it is a matter of surviving the recovery. It’s gonna be intense. They might have to take a section of my bowel. They don’t know yet until they get in there. I will be vertically cut from top to bottom.
PET Scan
This went well. There’s not much to say about it, really. I appreciated that my room had these light-up autumn panels! I felt it was a positive sign!

Misc
I renewed all of my domains for as long as possible, so they don’t expire until 2034.
I have three appointments in the upcoming week, so that will be tiring.
Never forget, I have been going to so many doctors and specialists for 10 years. The last 5 years I’ve been going every 6-8 weeks (including labs!) to again so many doctors and specialists. And I was just told I was crazy and fat (to paraphrase).
I don’t even know what to say because I am so overwhelmed. I feel very isolated and scared.
The medical community gaslighting women since forever. I’m glad you kept speaking up about it, though. It’s definitely a scary situation. I have no doubt that You got this! Wish I lived closer, but know you have a friend in Texas rooting hard for you! 💕
So glad you like the surgeon. This whole thing is scary enough as it is — having a doctor you feel good about is important. I’m sending you tons of good vibes. Hang in there!
I’m so glad to hear that the appointment went well. It’s important to have someone in your corner that you like. All the healing vibes your way dear, I hope the surgery goes fast and recovery is smooth.
