Need Recipe For: Chicken Soup
It appears as though I am for sure coming down with a cold and Keith isn’t far behind. Luckily Daniel is pretty healthy (at least since we got him out of the filthy hell-hole that was his biological father’s home), and obviously Tristan is solely breastfed so he is getting those awesome antibodies.
I would super appreciate any chicken soup recipe so we can feel all comforted, eat a healthy meal, and chicken soup is the best thing to eat when sick! Also if you have any simple homeopathic suggestions on how to beat the cold or at the very least alleviate some of the symptoms, that would be uber fantastic too.

Ooooh, I have a recipe for chicken noodle soup that I make all the time. It’s easy to make, especially with little ones and it’s super yummy! I’ve kind of altered it a bit, so when I get home from class in a bit ill write it up and email it your way :)

I can’t wait!
No idea on chicken noodle soup recipes, but I do happen to own a netipot and that thing is fantastic for nasal irrigation. Which sounds kind of gross, but it is really effective at getting rid of mucus and clearing the sinus’s. Apparently it was developed and used by ancient yogi’s for years. You can pick one up for like $20 at walgreens or something. You instantly feel better and get rid of the sniffles. *nods*
I always like leek and potato soup :) Mmm soup! I hope you guys feel better soon
I agree with Erin — neti pots are really helpful for sinus congestion. I bought one at Walgreen’s when I had a terrible cold/sinus thing last year. The irrigating process does feel a little weird, but it helps!
If neti pots are too pricey for you right now, you might also consider a saline spray. I think you can get a bottle for about $3 and any drugstore should have them. (I think the brand I’ve used was called Ayr.) It’s not as effective as the neti pot since it’s not washing out the gunk, but it does help to thin mucus and keep your sinuses moist (between the cold air outside, heated air inside, and medications, it’s easy for them to become painfully dry).
Hope you guys get better soon!
