Phone

March 29th 2003 / 2 minutes to read

I am starting to freak out about my phone bill. Obviously I have not gotten any money from Daniel’s father. Even though most of the phone calls are from him or trying to contact him about Daniel. Since I obviously do not have a job yet, I am just not sure what to do. The phone bill is $200 if not more. Yes, I got enough donations to keep the phone on last month, but there was still $100 on that bill alone. Add in all the calls that I have had to make about this situation I was put into, It is probably another $100 if not more. So I am worried. I am willing to sell some things, like some books I no longer want, I am willing to do custom design work, help out with websites, that sort of thing.

I am hoping Daniel will be okay, that I can get a job by mid April perhaps? Depending on my car situation and what not of course.

I am very stressed about money. Daniel needs a new car seat, he hardly fits into his infant seat, I need a high chair for him to eat more than just waffles and crackers. He needs clothes.

I just don’t know how to deal with all of this anymore.

My sons and I had our dental cleanings today; as always, there were zero issues! I’m pretty strict about dental hygiene, especially at nighttime. I love our dentist and their office!

I’m not sure about your state, but here in KY there are a lot of places that will help low (or no!) income families. We have a program called Mommy and Me that helps out with so many things. Maybe you have something similar close to you? I’d definetly check it out.
WIC also helps with children up to five years old in the food department. It’s usually formula when they’re little, but they also do baby food, cereal and such.
Plus, there are places that will help with bills. I know most of the places that help here are catholic, and since you’re pagan that might not be an option to you..but it can’t hurt to try to find somewhere could it?

In addition to the above, try http://www.modestneeds.org to request help. Check out yard sales/garage sales for a cheap high chair or car seat [usually listed in the paper classifieds] or try Salvation Army/Goodwill/St Vincent stores. It may be used, but if it’s in good condition, it’s worth the savings over buying new. And go to http://www.freelancebyu.com/ to learn ways to save money on baby items via coupons/sales/refunds. Their newsletter is very informative and it’ll help you make ends meet. A lot of people on the list are moms, too. Other good baby freebie sites:

I don’t know how much I can do to help, but if you want, you can send me a list of anything and everything you need, and I’ll see what I can do.
