Songs

Just for kicks, I would LOVE it if everyone could just suggest one (or more!) songs they think I should listen to, heck if you have time, even a reason why!

Here, I will kick it off.

I think everyone should listen to ‘Drift Away’ by Dobie Gray. It’s a classic, the lyrics speak through the times. It can even… dare I say? Uplift your mood for a wee bit.

“Day after day I?m more confused
And I look for the light through the pouring rain…

I?m beginning to think that I?m wasting time
I don?t understand the things I do
The world outside looks so unkind
Now I?m counting on you
To carry me through

Oh, give me the beat, boys, and free my soul
I wanna get lost in your rock and roll
And drift away “

Oh heck. You know how I am with music – I have *tons* of songs that I want to share with everyone. I’m going to think about this and come back with a reasonable (read: shorter) list. ;)

Hmm… In My Place by Coldplay, it’s very relaxing.

This is a hard one Sarah.  My musical tastes scatter the entire spectrum and I love whatever happens to be on at the moment.  Right now I am relaxing to the entire Eric Clapton “Unplugged” CD. It’s all good.

Ohhh! Well I’m going to suggest anything from Avril Lavigne, Sheryl Crow or Alanis Morrisette. They are about as real as mainstream music gets, hugely funky and even the depressing songs manage to be uplifting if you play them loud enough! I’m seriously in my “angry girl” music phaze @ the moment! Oh, btw, thanks for the comment in my blog!

*huge hugs*

I’m back. Anything DMB, of course. With the sole exception of “Sleep To Dream Her” – never subject your ears to that horror of a song. Trust me.

“Sing Along” | Blue Man Group
“When the Stars Go Blue” | The Corrs + Bono
“Bang Bang” | Dispatch (or “The General”)
“Jesus, etc” | Wilco
“Whole Again” | Granian
“Inama Nushif” | Children of Dune soundtrack

…any of what angel suggested, and then any Jason Mraz, Ben Kweller or Nickel Creek.

Evanescence – “My Immortal” is a GREAT song!

“When you cry I wipe away all of your tears,
when you scream I fight away all of your fears.
I held your hand through all of these years,
and you still held
    on me.”

“Stay or Leave” | Dave Matthews + Tim Renyolds.

This song premiered during the acoustic tour and it’s such a wonderfully written song.  In one word: beautiful.

You might like “Darkening Of The Light” by Concrete Blonde.

“where the clouds pull apart
and the moon changes faces
in the quiet secret places
are you there, are you there?”

Hey. I am liking a few right now. I am liking “Clocks” by Coldplay, umm, I am liking Aimee Mann’s “You Could Make A Killin’” and Ms. Dynamite’s “It Takes More” and the new Linkin Park album is just out of this world. I really am liking a lot of stuff right now. :)

well, I don’t know how long this post has been up (or really I don’t care) But I was bored so I figured why the hell not? Okay.
A Perfect Circle – The Outsider
Nickelback – Figured You Out
Anything Linkin Park is good if you’re in a bitchy or depressed mood and if you just feel like yelling stuff you can yell the words if you know them.
Seether – Your Bore
Black Sabbath – Paranoid
End of Green – Tragedy Insane
More, but I’m too lazy.
