I’ve subscribed to SquareHue, which is a monthly nail polish subscription box. You don’t get to choose the colors but each $21 box generally has a theme. The July 2013 SquareHue box theme is Salute!
This box was great! Not your typical red, white, and blue shades you would normally expect in July. These shades remind me more of the military or our nation’s flag (with the blue shade Patriot especially!).
Valor is an Army olive green shade. In some light it pulls more green, in other light a bit more tan. I think this will work very well come Autumn, maybe even with some golden glitter on top (I love my glitter!).
Patriot a stunning royal blue shade. The formula on this one leaned a bit on the watery side but overall was fine. Considering the theme of this month’s collection, it does remind me a bit of the blue color in our nation’s flag! I really think this color is my favorite out of the box this month. It’s just a really great royal blue.
Honor is a lovely golden shimmery foil. Really easy to apply with no streaking.
All swatches needed 2 thin coats and I did not use any base or top coat in the swatches.
I enjoyed the SquareHue Salute Collection this month and can not wait to see what they have planned for next month!
I can’t recommend SquareHue enough. You get a ton of polish for the price, a good variety of colors, they donate to worthy causes… no gimmicks. They do nail polish and they do it very well.
