The Soul That You Have Is Electricity

August 26th 2007 / 1 minute to read

Nothing like going four days without electricity to make one appreciate the Pagan plus side of having a ton of candles (although eventually I did have to buy more). The joy of heavy storms!

Financial damage? $150 in groceries, $90 for evil fast food, $80 for candles, matches, flashlights, and batteries. To say that I am broke is an understatement.

So yeah, that’s why I haven’t been around. Can’t wait to check my emails heh.

Four days without electricity? Ouch. Everything that I rely on is electrical. Computer, alarm clock, shower, fridge…

I’m so lucky that I’ve never experenced a power loss, at least not for more than a few hours. Two Christmas’s ago I returned from my mum’s to my flat and had no power but it didn’t matter as I was going striaght out.

Those candles are lovely, by the way.

I seriously could not imagine going that long without power! Food, cooking (we love our microwave and toaster!), showers (hot water heater is electrical!), AIR CONDITIONING, entertainment…

How does it feel to be among the “modern” again? And lovely candles!

Wow, I haven’t seen you in a while.

I thought the power was going to go out tonight. The thunder was so loud it sounded like it was right over my house. Earlier today a power line fell less than 1/2 mile away. Thankfully, it was on the other side of the street.

I remember when a storm a few years ago knocked out our electricity and we had to light candles and such. It was kind of cool. Expect for the splurging we had to do on food, haha.

When I first moved in with my boyfriend, his hot water was out due to a busted water heater. I actually ended up keeping and paying rent for my apartment for an entire month that I shouldn’t have just so we could have somewhere to shower. It happened again with the new heater, something with our breakers, and we were without hot water AND the phone AND the internet for an entire weekend. We were insanely bored, stinky folks.

311 lyrics as a blog heading? Heh. We were without power for a few days last week, too. IRRITATING.
