Confused?

I’ve oddly enough, gotten a few comments that this current design is “confusing” from reasons such as the placement of the link to comment (although I’ve had it by the title for over a year now) to placement of sidebars. As this is irritating me, I would like to know if you find this design confusing (and why) or not confusing (and why/praise/ravish me).

I need to get Daniel and I mittens (hehe that’s a funny word!) because the temperature has steadily been 30 degrees or lower and my hands freeze all day at work, even with the heat on. I’m thinking it’s good weather to make chili this weekend with some cornbread with some of that awesome cornmeal from the Graue Mill. I would love any chili and cornbread recipes!

I hope to have the CSS tab tutorial up this weekend, actually, does anyone check out / use the tutorials I have up?

I think everyone goes through this once in a while, the self doubt of having a website/blog. I always go through this when I renew OSN. It doesn’t help that I am all hormonal this weekend and that I’m freezing.

Speaking of freezing, what is your favorite part about cold weather?

I can’t help but be a bit amused that one of the nation’s top evangelical leaders is shown to be soliciting prostitutes and buying meth.

Design Change

Ok, I have the comment link switched to the bottom to help out a bit… even though now I’m confused lol. So I shall see if that helps y’all out!

More Design Change

Added a sidebar anchor under the tabs, added one all the way at the bottom to bring you back to the entry, changed the background color to a gradient, went and validated as XHTML strict, although my structure probably sucks lol. I know there’s a couple issues in IE6 (I forgot until now to even check heh) so I will fix those this weekend.

Confusing, but Pretty!

Reworked the design, still basic flow, all I did was change a few colors and swirls and changed the 2 sidebars into four! GOOD TIMES! At the very least I just hope all of the pages work lol.

Imagine has been updated of course.

I didn’t do much this weekend besides clean and grocery shop. Last night I made turkey burgers topped with chipotle cheese and pico de gallo. So tasty! I am going to ponder tonight’s dinner and make a better attempt at posting at Talking Snack.

Today so far, hasn’t been the best day. I am also really cold and it’s going to rain which will make it even colder. Joy.

Sometimes…

I can’t seem to focus today. I might try and drag my sister to the local camera store I really want to buy an affordable reflector if at all possible.

Wow, Britney Spears Files for Divorce!

I’m trying to ponder tonight’s dinner. Probably grilled cheese with basil.

More

I went alone to the camera store and picked up some close up filters. Still debating if I like them or not.

I am just not in the best of moods today. I need a hug.

I Begin to Wonder

I am feeling so detached lately. I don’t know what my problem is. I’m sure part of it is that I haven’t been doing anything or going anywhere lately. It’s pitch black pretty much by the time I get home which limits outdoor activities obviously. I’ve also been thinking about how I used to be.

I used to have a video camera that I dragged with me everywhere. I (along with a friend) would go just anywhere, grocery stores, starbucks, and I would ask a question and video tape their responses. I wish I had that tape. Anyway, I had no issue just going up to people I didn’t know and asking to record them. Zero problem. Yet now I practically faint being around people I don’t already know for a lengthy period of time. Much less going up and asking for a portrait. I would love to just set up a little station on a busy road, slap up a sign, something like “Candy for Portrait” or something just as catchy and try to get as many portraits as possible. I really want to take photos of adults but… alas… I don’t have anyone willing around me. It sends me into a creativity depression. I’m practically an emo tortured artist at this point. Does anyone feel this way when it comes to their photography (or art of choice)? Maybe I should check out a billion more photography books and read the ones I own to get re-inspired. As for the close up filters, I’m still debating my feelings on them. I was surprised to see what a shallow DOF I have to work with so I am anticipating the rain that’s supposed to come on Friday, see how they do with water drops.

I think I just need to reconnect with everyone too.

I Ran (So Far Away)

Firstly, I want to show off all the awesome new layouts from Heather, Jess, and Maricar!

I’ve been making myself take at least one photo a day even though I am largely uninspired. To try and help this, I checked out like every photography book from the library yesterday. I changed the look to Imagine and of course updated with more photos. I went through all the photos on my hard drive and deleted the crappy ones. I don’t know why I keep them. They are just… crappy, too blurry, just not right and yet I haven’t deleted them! So time to purge.

I need a good vegetarian chili recipe w/out soy/tofu products. I just like my chili without meat. I plan on making nummy cornbread with it and hope to have it for tomorrow’s dinner.

I’m already looking forward to Yule, just to welcome the Sun back because damn I can not function with it being pitch black at 4:30p. It makes me feel like I’ve wasted the day!

I’ve been pondering, allow the ability to comment on the love/music/snippets areas?

It’s Not Over

First off, I love Daughtry, just saying.

It’s been a long week, not much has gone on but the time has dragged by a bit. So this morning I am discussing with my Heather that I was trying to make myself like oranges. I love limes, I love lemons, can’t stand orange or grapefruit or any other citrus really. I don’t know why. This morning though, my son basically FORCED a clementine into my breakfast/lunch bag so I ate it and gagged the whole way. It just *shudder* I don’t like it. Am I the only one that loves lemons and limes but can’t stand other citrus fruits?

I am drinking coffee, black, one of the guys got it for me bwahah.

I have no clue what I will cook on Thanksgiving since I’ve done the big turkey thing the last couple of years and really don’t want to do that this year. I am pondering a lasagna which I haven’t made in a very long time. Any suggestions for an alternative to the traditional big turkey dinner?

I haven’t been chatty lately, I need to work on that.

All These Lives

Yeah obsessed much? I called Mary at 11pm just to shriek about Daughtry. Yep.

New photos up at Imagine, I feel like I have nothing to photograph except those roses these days. I am loving my hoya close up filters. It’s pitch black when I get home during the week… I need to just drag my camera with me to work and try to find the fancy in the mundane. I also want to buy some cheap poster board for seamless backdrops because I’ve been doing a lot of close-ups lately and such.

I’ve been really down lately. Daniel’s father once again broke a promise to his son, big surprise right. I had to repair the damage he caused so I am pissed off about that. I’ve also slacked on commenting on all of your lovely blog’s lately. I will mass comment this weekend I swear! I was so overly chipper today work wise because I had coffee, I pity the people I had to talk to on the phone because I naturally talk very fast, add coffee to that and I sound like a cracked out pixy. At the very least a drunk hummingbird.

Yule is coming up, I am pondering when I will put up our tree. I took my son to Target tonight and it was all I could do to control myself from throwing a billion ornaments into the shopping cart. It’s hard to resist the glittery stars, butterflies, dragonflies, and umm anything with glitter on it really. Big surprise right. I also want to get a lot more yellow and orange ornaments to get into the color scheme (or in my head “vibration”) for Yule. I also want to try my hand at drying orange slices again for tiny suns, I did it 2 years ago and it was really neat.

Well off to obsess about Daughtry and think naughty things!

If you have a second, please rate Imagine over at CoolPhotoBlogs! I would really appreciate it!

There And Back Again

Firstly, Imagine is updated.

When I got home yesterday I came home to find a box from one of my bestest friends (MJ). Enclosed was the Goddess Tarot Deck and an awesome pair of socks she knitted for me (yes I am wearing them now and they are beyond comfy I am thrilled)!

I then took Daniel to the park for quite awhile, came home, had dinner, and then I went over to my naughtytastic friend’s house for a bit to hang out. It was really nice. We drank coffee, I ate her pomegranate seeds, I fixed parts of her computer, and her teenage son whooped my ass in Halo.

Today, my son and I will be going to the library so he can play with the trains and because I have a ton of photography and photoshop books on hold. First thing I did this morning was buy the Daughtry album on iTunes! I was overjoyed to see that only on iTunes was there a bonus track if you bought the whole album (which I did naturally). I rarely buy music anymore but I must support him because I love him! In very naughty ways! I am so excited because tomorrow he will be performing on Regis and Kelly!

Oh I almost forgot! I signed up and now have a Zooomr account. It’s sort of like flickr but has some niftyness of its own.

For all the photographers out there, I have a few questions.

  • Nikon or Canon? (tell me if other!)
  • Where do you buy your equipment? (share websites if possible)
  • Which filters (if any) do you have?
  • Which lenses (if any and if it’s an slr camera) do you have?
  • What type of camera bag do you have?
  • How often do you shoot?
  • Raw or JPG?
  • What accessories do you have? (ex: tripod, spare battery, extra memory, cleaner)
  • What is on your photography wish list?
  • Do you feel that it is easier for men to be a street photographer than it is for a woman?

I am still debating over making lasagna for thanksgiving, maybe I should make chili and cornbread? Decisions, decisions.

The World Around You

I was having freaked out nightmares last night. Just… psycho about murder and people that wouldn’t die just… ugh. Although the highlight was in the dream, that’s right, Daughtry was performing. Speaking of my love Daughtry, I was umm very excited that last night as I am yet again fighting with my DSL at home (it keeps dropping for hours at a time) that I suddenly hear the pure joy emit from my tv so I look over and it’s a commercial (promo) for Prison Break using Daughtry’s current single! I screamed of course and called my friend Mary to scream over the phone at her for a minute. Yeah. Good times.

So this morning I had to haul myself out of bed because I was so out of it due to the nightmares and such, called and talked to my Heather for a bit. She got to hear me get happy because I saw cardinals! A male and female. I didn’t get any good shots, not for a lack of trying though.

I have no clue what to do today although it’s a bit nicer weather wise. I desperately need to do laundry if not tonight, then tomorrow for sure.

I really want to take some portraits but I don’t know many people here, much less anyone that will let me take their photograph.

Oh and I almost forgot! My friend emailed me last night that her web design professor (she takes a class) said my site rocked! Ok maybe not rocked but that it was one of the best he’s seen! Also one of the guys at work said my photos are “fucking really good”, so I am full of creative pride.

What About Now

Obviously, new design for OSN. I combined Imagine with OSN. So if you have a Photoblogs account, I wouldn’t mind it if you bookmarked me!

I will add more to this entry later!

Later

I made stir fry with beef, pork, pineapple, veggies, and bbq sauce. Nummy goodness!

I took Danny to the Des Plaines Library and checked out a billion photography magazines. When I went to the check out the Librarian asked me who the shutterbug was and I sort of shrugged and said, “uhhh me…” and she ended up holding up the line to discuss cameras with me! She wanted to know what I would recommend for a p&s (point and shoot) and I was discussing brands and features lol. She then pointed me to this little room where they had old books for sale and free magazines and I found four photography magazines for free!

So right now watching the Charlie Brown Christmas Special on tv.
