Em Cosmetics Pillow Plush Lip Balm in Berries and Bubblegum

I’ve always been a bit curious about the products from Em Cosmetics. Over the summer I purchased a lipstick and waterliner (eyeliner) and felt a bit mixed.

Over the past two months they’ve had amazing deals (50% sucks me in every time) and figured I’d purchase a wider selection of products.

Today I’m going over the Em Cosmetics Pillow Plush Cushiony Lip Balm in the shades Berries and Bubblegum. That is a mouthful!

Here’s what Em Cosmetics has to say about the balm:

this balm has a creamy, buttery texture that conditions your lips with shea butter and vitamin e. wear it under lip color or alone—plus, it has a yummy vanilla scent!

I don’t really notice any scent… which is better than something heavily scented. The texture is a bit sticky, soft, and is lightly moisturizing. Berries is much more pigmented than Bubblegum.

I think the packaging is adorable! I love the boxes, love the font used (issues I know!), and love the white.

It’s not a super intensely hydrating balm… but it is lightly moisturizing. It lasted on me about 4 hours which isn’t bad at all. There’s no shimmer / sparkle / glitter to these at all.

Here’s the swatches! On the left I shot this in full on bright sunlight and on the right, in the shade.

Would I recommend these? Actually, I would! I like the hint of color and that it doesn’t have a strong scent or flavor. I also appreciate the moisturizing benefits especially this time of year.

I’m actually satisfied with all the EM products I’ve tried so far. It’s definitely a little pricey but so far I’ve had no big complaints about any of it.

And looking back at your last review about it kinda made me giggle cause you likened it to things like L’Oreal, Maybelline etc. — EM is a L’Oreal product :P

I am still not thrilled with the Amethyst waterliner FOR my waterline, but I did buy 5 others to see if maybe it’s just that shade that was cranky for me.

Oh, I know L’Oreal owns EM but the products / quality are very different. L’Oreal products are advertised towards more of a older crowd and EM towards a younger crowd for example and I noticed the eyeshadow textures also are different between the brands.

I tried 2 waterliners: Chocolate Dream, a matte dark brown, and Emerald, a beautiful metallic emerald green. I returned Chocolate Dream because the liner bullet fell out of the tube every time I used it and the color payoff was so-so, but Emerald? That one was a winner! Truly gorgeous and unique. I LOVE the look of Bubblegum. I love me a subtle pink!

I just posted swatches / review on the waterliners. Have you contacted their customer service about replacing Chocolate Dream?
